After our mini-series traveling by train, passing through historic cities and descending the Estrada da Graciosa, many people left comments asking about the best time to go. Some have already decided: Priscila is coming on the holiday on April 21 and Nair is thinking about doing the route on May 1.

The only recommendation is: before the trip, check the weather websites. If it rains or the forecast is foggy, a good portion of the trip is lost. In case of rain, it becomes impossible to walk through the historic cities and the beauty of the houses goes down the Nhudiaquara river.

If the option is to get to know the Serra do Mar by train, pay extra attention. The outbound journey takes place in the morning, a preferred time for mists. Therefore, if the weather doesn’t help, it becomes difficult to see anything through the train car windows. Which means that the landscape – one of the highlights of the trip – will have to wait for next time.

Some weather websites to consult – which will help, even on other trips:

Weather Brazil
It’s my favorite. It provides the forecast (understand, I said FORECAST… there can always be surprises, but it is usually correct) up to 10 days in advance.

ClimaTempo
I like this one too. Besides making predictions, it is a kind of weather news portal.

Simepar
It is Paraná’s meteorological website. It brings forecasts for all cities in the state, even the smaller ones like Antonina and Morretes. Which doesn’t happen on the others.
